So that was another nail-biting encounter. I hope you enjoyed our live coverage and commentary. Do join us for the 7 pm game. Till then its tata and babye from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Kingshuk Kusari.
Arya: Both played sensibly and struck the boundaries whenever they required to up the ante. A partnership of 80 runs allowed them to claw their way back into the game. Shivam Chauhan was dismissed after scoring 35 of 29 deliveries while Rana fell just short of a well deserved half-century. Sumit Kumar struck some lusty blows towards the back end of the innings but the Baroda bowlers were tight in the death overs which didn’t allow Haryana to go beyond the 150 mark. Eventually they finished on 148 which was always going to be a challenging target for Baroda sans their top players.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was Baroda skipper Kedar Devdhar who won the toss and put the oppositions in. The start wasn’t great for Haryana as they lost an early wicket. Chaitnaya Bishnoi looked in good touch and struck two sublime sixes but his ultra aggressive approach brought about his downfall. With wickets falling, all Haryana needed was to steady the sinking ship which was provided by Himanshu Rana and Shivam Chauhan.
Arya: However just as it looked out of Baroda’s reach, Vishnu Solanki turned the game on its head with his exceptional hitting in the last over. With 15 required of the last 3, the youngster smashed two sixes and a four to seal a memorable match for Baroda and they march to the semi-finals of the tournament. Sumit Yadav who had bowled well in the first 3 deliveries lost his length and ended up bowling length deliveries right into the arc of Solanki and he literally destroyed him in the last 3 deliveries.
Arya: Devdhar was dismissed by Sumit Kumar but the equation was well in favour of the batting team. Solanki struck some exceptional shots during his well crafted half-century but as the required rate started going up, the batters started crumbling under pressure. Despite having 8 wickets in hand for the major part of the chase, they messed it up in the final stages.
Arya: A target of 149 was going to be a challenging one for Baroda especially with so many of their top players not in the XI. Kedar Devdhar and Smit Patel started off sensibly for Baroda as their target wasn’t a huge one. A partnership of 33 runs came in the 6th over before the dismissal of Patel by star player Yuzvendra Chahal. It was a great opening over from the leggie but he couldn’t bag any more in his rest of the overs. A partnership of 68 between Devdhar and Solanki followed which put Baroda on the driver’s seat. However the Haryana bowlers kept the run rate under check which allowed them to put some pressure despite not being to take wickets.
Arya: Vishnu Solani you will be remembered for a long time, he deserves all the credit, all the plaudits for what he has done here today. He finishes the match off with a helicopter shot, finishing a match with a six for your team is definitely a special feeling. You have to feel for Haryana, buts hats off to the youngster who held his nerves and smashed those lusty blows in the last few deliveries of the match to seal the deal for Baroda.

19.6 Sumit Kumar to Vishnu Solanki
6 SIXX!!! This is Unbelievable stuff from Solanki. Truly Magical. Take a bow Solanki. Sits deep in the crease and Kumar bowls it full on the stumps just what Solanki needed, he plays the helicopter shot straight over long on for a maximum. Arms in the air as soon as he connects this. Terrific from Solanki and Baroda enter the Semis
Arya: full and wide with 3rd man up in the circle, that is poor, very poor from Sumit Kumar. The field is set up for the leg side and the bowler is not taking that option at all.
Arya: Mohit Sharma is having a chat with his bowler
19.5 Sumit Kumar to Vishnu Solanki
4 FOUR!!! A Streaky boundary here. Full around off, Solanki slogs at it and gets a thick outside edge over short third man for a boundary. 5 from 1
19.4 Sumit Kumar to Vishnu Solanki
6 SIXX!!! That's a sensational hit by Solanki. Slower ball in the slot, Solanki sits back in the crease and smacks this straight on the sightscreeen. 9 needed from 2 now
19.3 Sumit Kumar to Abhimanyu Rajput
1 Excellent execution from the youngster. Bowls a perfect wide yorker and all Rajput can manage is to hit it down the ground to long off for a single
Arya: Solanki drills this and its the bowler on the top of the thumb and he seems to be in agony, the physios are out
19.2 Sumit Kumar to Vishnu Solanki
1 A wide low full and Solanki hits it straight to Kumar who tries to catch it but drops it and gets hit on the left hand. The batsmen sneak a single. Kumar looks in pain and he has called for the physio
19.1 Sumit Kumar to Abhimanyu Rajput
1 A perfect yorker on the stumps and Rajput inside edges the slog to deep mid wicket for a single
Arya: With 8 wickets in hand, it has been pretty poor from Baroda in the last 2-3 overs
Kingshuk: Mohit Sharma has got his mojo back. Brilliant over, mixing up his lengths and pace and it means that Baroda now need 18 runs off the final over. The captain has made his experience count and now Haryana just need to calm their nerves. They have this game in their pocket.
