Akshay: That's all from us at OneCricket. Hope you enjoyed today's coverage. I Akshay Bhide, along with my co-commentators AryaSekhar Chakraborty and Sourya Choudhary sign off. Tata. Bye bye.
Akshay: With this win, Baroda face Tamil Nadu in the final on Sunday. Two deserving sides face off against each other and it promises to be a cracker of a contest.
Akshay: Kedar Devdhar is the player of the match for his brilliant innings 64 of 49 balls and some exceptional captaincy from him.
Akshay: It was Mandeep who won the toss and opted to bowl first expecting dew in the second innings. Baroda got off to a good start as Devdhar was striking the ball nicely early on. Siddharth Kaul dismissed Rathva and the star of the last game Solanki played a false shot against Markande as he departed cheaply. Devdhar was joined by Kakade and they stitched a superb partnership between them. They pulled their side out of the hole as both of them brought up their half centuries. Punjab bowlers failed to break this partnership as it helped Baroda post a competitive total on the board which proved to be too much for Mandeep's men in the end.
Akshay: Punjab were set a target of 161 and they didn’t had the best of the start to the chase as Abhishek Sharma was cleaned up by Meriwala in the second over. The Baroda bowlers bowled good line and lengths as the Punjab batsmen found it difficult to score boundaries in the powerplay. The shoulder injury to Mandeep meant that he was moved down the batting order. The spinners were brought in to the attack and they kept a lid on the scoring rate in the middle overs. Bhatt and Rathva were brilliant with their spells as the latter picked up 2 wickets. Kakade too chipped in with 1 wicket. Punjab kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Mandeep tried his level best but couldn’t take his side across the line as they fell short by 25 runs. Lukman Meriwala was sensational with the ball for Baroda as he ended the match with figures of 3/28 including one maiden.
Akshay: A clinical performance by Baroda in all three departments as they beat Punjab by 25 runs and storm into the finals to face Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Devdhar was brilliant in his captaincy and he led from the front. The bowlers too stepped up as it was not a huge total but they defended it brilliantly.
