So, that wraps up our coverage of Match 3 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Don't go too far away as you can switch tabs to catch Match 4 between South Africa and Sri Lanka live from Delhi. Stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide alongside scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "Happy with the result. We didn't start well but came back well with the ball and kept the pressure on and got the rewards.

We worked on our fielding and practised as the ground is not ideal for us. Happy with my bowling.

All the bowlers chipped in. The spinners chipped in more and with time fast bowlers will chip in more.

Mehidy is our pick of the players alongside Shanto and they always do well for us. They are two of our pick players and glad they are doing well. I am glad that we won convincingly and got the two points."

Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "Yeah. We had a good start but after the loss of first and second and third wicket, we had a very loose shot selection. But I would like to give credit to Bangladesh for the way they bowled.

We bowled well but there weren't enough runs on the board. I'm happy with the fight we showed with the ball in hand.

I think we should learn from our mistakes. This was our first game and we will like to learn from the mistakes and try not to repeat them against England."

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Player of the Match): "Yeah. It is a great moment for me. I had done a lot of work in the past and the support staff and team management gave me the chance. I would like to thank them.

They were batting nicely from the start. So, I was cautious at the start of my spell. My captain came to me and said to bowl tighter on the stumps.

While batting, I look at ball-by-ball. I tried to get better on this surface. The wicket was a bit challenging in the end so I had to take some time.

I want to thank the team management for trusting me. I love batting in the top-order and it is always a great moment for me if I get a chance to bat in top three."

Player of the Match: Mehidy Hasan Miraz

4:21 PM IST and Local Time: That's it. A comprehensive win for Bangladesh over Afghanistan in Dharamsala as they have outplayed their opponents in all facets of the game to win this by 6 wickets and more than 15 overs to spare. Afghanistan were never really in the game apart from maybe the first powerplay. But once they were dismissed cheaply, it was only one team that was going to come out on top and it was Bangladesh who came out on top.

Chasing 157 for the win, Bangladesh lost Tanzid Hasan cheaply to a run out. Litton Das fell for 13. But it was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who stood tall with the bat with his 57 off 73 balls. Najmul Hossain Shanto supported him from the other end and stayed till the end. He remained unbeaten on 59* off 83 balls. The skipper Shakib Al Hasan contributed 14 off 19 balls before departing. Rahim was unbeaten in the end. 8 extras were given by the fielding side as the victory target was achieved in 34.4 overs.

It was a tough day for the Afghanistan bowlers with such a little total to defend. A wicket apiece for Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen ul Haq, and Omarzai. All the wickets falling to pacers and one was a run out. No wickets for Nabi, Rashid, and Mujeeb. The fielding was shoddy from them as well.

Earlier in the game, Afghanistan were put into bat first by Bangladesh. They got off to a solid start with the openers putting on 47 runs for the first wicket. But they fell away in the end. Gurbaz top scored with 47. Ibrahim Zadran scored 22. Rahmat Shah gave his wicket away for 18. Shahidi struggled for his 18 off 38 balls and slowed down the innings. But they fell from 112/2 to 156 all out losing their last 8 wickets for 44 runs. Omarzai scored a defiant 22 off 20 balls in the end. 8 extras were given by the fielding side as they were bowled out for 156 in 37.2 overs.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/30 in 8 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz complimented him well with figures of 3/25 in 9 overs. Shoriful Islam picked up a couple of wickets for 34 runs in 6.2 overs. A wicket apiece for Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman. All in all, a great bowling display from Bangladesh.

So, a win for Bangladesh over Afghanistan by 6 wickets with 15.2 overs to spare to kick start their campaign on a winning note. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony.
34.4 N ul to Shanto
4 Drilled through mid off for a boundary. A misfield from the fielder inside the circle and it results in a boundary. That sums up Afghanistan's day today. This was a fuller delivery outside off and Shanto drives it towards mid off where the fielder misfields it and it runs away for four. With this, Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by six wickets and start their World Cup 2023 campaign on a winning note.
34.3 N ul to Shanto
4 FOUR!!! Naveen bowls it short on the body and Shanto just helps it on its way behind square in the leg side. Farooqi from deep square leg runs to his left and tries to stop it but misfields it as the ball trickles away to the boundary ropes. Just 3 required now.
The 150 comes up for Bangladesh. Just 7 needed for victory.
34.2 N ul to M Rahim
1 Shorter in length on the stumps, Rahim tucks it off his hips in the leg side for a run.
34.1 N ul to Shanto
1 Length delivery on middle, Shanto defends and gets an inside edge in the square leg region for a single.
Just 9 needed for the win.

33.6 A Omarzai to Shanto
1 Short delivery on the body and Shanto pulls it off the inside half of the bat towards fine leg for a run. With this, he gets to his fifty.
33.5 A Omarzai to M Rahim
1 Rahim is away with a single. Gets into the position quickly and pulls the short delivery to deep square leg for a run.
Rahim is not happy with the umbrella that was bothering his vision. But now all problems are solved.
33.4 A Omarzai to M Rahim
0 Back of a length delivery around off and Rahim defends it off the backfoot.
