Temba Bavuma (South Africa Captain): "My leg is sore. Don't know what to extent. Hope it is fine. It has got to be fine. Had the option of coming off. But wanted to be out there to get time out in the middle and leading the guys out in the middle. I wanted to lead from the front.

I think winning is a habit and we will take the confidence going forward. We batted second, so that was different. This chase will help us in going further as to how to go about the chase.

Not really, the wicket got better. Keshav was good. Gerald picked up crucial wickets and made it easier for us.

There are rooms for improvements and hope to do well in the semis.

Look, we would love to play here in Ahmedabad again in front of a packed house. But for that we have to cross a hurdle in Australia. We are looking forward to that game and not thinking too far ahead. Thank you Harsha."
Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "As a captain, I'm quite happy with the performance we did. We fought till the last moment in each game. We had good games and a lot of learnings for us.

Yeah. Proud of the way our batters have done in this tournament. We were struggling before this tournament. We sat together and talked about the weak points. In the end, you saw the result of how our batters performed. We are looking forward to the future. We know we have a good spin department. If we keep batting in a similar fashion in the future, we will have a very good side.

We gave a good message to the world with this tournament. We fought till the last moment against the big teams. The results didn't go our way but we fought till the end. Even in that match against Australia, you saw we fought till the end. That Australia game was very shocking to us. Even the next day, it was shocking for me. But I'm proud of the team."
Rassie van der Dussen (Player of the Match): "Yeah. I think we were not too unhappy with bowling first. We would have bowled first as well on winning the toss. They have got good spinners on their side and happy to get through with this challenge.

In these types of chases, you need someone to play the anchor role. The platform was set by the openers and it was easy for me to come and play in my style. We know what our batting order can do and we had little partnerships in the middle and are happy to get across the line.

It's the funny part. When you do well batting first and not too good while bowling first, people say you are not good with chasing. I think we have a 50-50 record while chasing and we would like to change it going forward.

We will take a lot of learnings from the previous games. The surface in Kolkata was a bit drier and here, the ball comes nicely onto the bat. We will try to learn when going back to Kolkata and hopefully, we will come back here next week and it will be the same conditions as tonight."

9:51 PM IST and Local Time:  So, we have had a really close game in Ahmedabad where the pendulum swung from one way to another. In the end, South Africa held their nerves to win the game by 5 wickets with 15 balls to spare and go upto 14 points in the points table. They have played better than Afghanistan when it really mattered and deserve the win in the end. Afghanistan bows out with their heads held high despite the loss tonight.

Chasing a gettable score of 245 for the win, South Africa were off to a solid start courtesy their openers Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma. The skipper Bavuma hobbled his way to score 23 off 28 balls. Quinton de Kock scored a good 41 off 47 balls. Rassie van der Dussen was magnificent today as he held the innings together and remained unbeaten in the end. He was unbeaten with 76* off 95 balls. Aiden Markram scored 25 off 32 balls as he got a start and got out. Heinrich Klaasen scored 10 off 13 balls. David Miller looked good while he was there as he scored 24 off 33 balls before he gave his wicket away. Andile Phehlukwayo played a crucial hand in the end and was unbeaten on 39* off 37 balls as South Africa got over the line with 15 balls left. 9 extras given by the fielding side.

From Afghanistan's bowling point of view, Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/37 in 10 overs. He was ably supported by Mohammad Nabi who finished with figures of 2/35 in 10 overs. A wicket to Mujeeb Ur Rahman as well. The pacers went for runs in the end. Noor finished wicketless.

Earlier in the day, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a decent start in the powerplay before Gurbaz fell for 25 off 22 balls. Ibrahim Zadran scored 15. Rahmat Shah got a start but got out scoring 26 off 46 balls. But it was the Azmatullah Omarzai show as he held the innings together with an unbeaten 97* off 107 balls and rescued Afghanistan from a tough spot. Ikram scored 12. Rashid Khan scored 14, Noor Ahmad scored a valuable 26 off 32 balls as well. 15 extras given by the fielding side as Afghanistan finished with 244 in 50 overs.

Gerald Coetzee was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa with figures of 4/44 in 10 overs. Keshav Maharaj was miserly as ever as he finished with figures of 2/25 in 10 overs. A couple of wickets for Lungi Ngidi as well and a wicket for Andile Phehlukwayo as well. Kagiso Rabada went wicketless but gave away only 40 runs in 10 overs. All in all, a good performance from the Proteas bowlers.

So, a win for South Africa by 5 wickets as they end their group stage with a win and finish with 14 points. This is their 7th win in 9 games. Stay tuned for the presentations.
Akshay: Phehlukwayo, You Beauty!!!! He just needs three balls to score those 14 runs. South Africa emerge victorious as they complete the chase with 15 balls to spare.
47.3 N ul to A Phehlukwayo
6 SIX! That's it. Short of a length and in the slot, Phehlukwayo picks it and swivels across too pull it away over deep square leg for the maximum to end the game. Phehlukwayo hits the winning runs as South Africa wins this game by 5 wickets.
Phehlukwayo wants to finish this game quickly. He is showing what he is capable of with the bat. A great addition to the side.
47.2 N ul to A Phehlukwayo
4 FOUR! Fuller and wide outside off, Phehlukwayo crashes it through the covers as the ball races away to the fence for a glorious boundary. That was crunched by the southpaw. Beats mid off to his right and races away to the fence in a flash.
Akshay: That's the killer blow from Phehlukwayo. That should seal the match for the Proteas unless something dramatic happens.
47.1 N ul to A Phehlukwayo
6 SIX! Short ball that sits up for the batter, Phehlukwayo picks it up and pulls it away over deep midwicket as the ball sails way back into the crowd for a 75 m hit into the stands. That will settle the nerves for the Proteas.
Equation: South Africa require 14 runs from 18 balls. Afghanistan need wickets to stay in the game. Shamsi and Hendricks run out with some drinks for the batters.
