That marks the end of our coverage as well. Thank you for staying with us throughout the match. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Sidharth Gulati(1st innings) and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!
Sam Hain (Player of the Match): "It's really pleasing. The game was intense, and the guys are thrilled with the win. Honestly, my experience in the BBL hasn't been as expected, but being a part of this competition is special. I've enjoyed watching it over the years, and contributing today means a lot. I have friends here from the Gold Coast. (Talking about the hamstring) I'll call it a cramp (smiles), but I'll need to check with the physio to see how it's doing."

5:06 PM IST, 10:36 PM Local Time: A comprehensive victory for the Hobart Hurricanes as they thumped the home side Melbourne Renegades by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare, keeping their hopes alive in the tournament.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Melbourne Renegades got off to a shaky start as they lost Shaun Marsh for a 6-ball duck in the first over of the innings. They struggled to score runs in the powerplay as the scoreboard read 14/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Jordan Cox switched gears in the latter half of the innings and contributed 47 runs off 36 balls, while Jonathan Wells’ unbeaten 25-ball 38 runs helped the Renegades post a respectable 147/4 in 20 overs. Tim David, Riley Meredith, Nathan Ellis, and Nikhil Chaudhary contributed a solitary wicket each for the Hurricanes.

In pursuit of 147 runs, Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott provided a solid start to the Hurricanes, adding 27 runs for the first wicket in three overs, but they lost three wickets in quick succession, which slowed down their scoring rate in the middle of the innings. Jewell (13 off 7), McDermott (25 off 23), and Macalister Wright (8 off 6) were the three batters to bite the dust.

Sam Hain and Corey Anderson started the rescue mission for the Hurricanes and the duo played watchfully and rotated the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking. As the required run rate was increasing, Sam stepped up his game during the power surge and began scoring at a faster pace to bring the required run rate back under control. After seeing Sam, Anderson also joined the party and began scoring quickly.

Hain notched up his half-century but failed to bat till the end and departed for 36-ball 51 runs. On the other hand, Anderson remained unbeaten on 41 runs off 35 balls. Tim David sealed the game for the visitors with a boundary.

The debutant, Fergus O'Neill bagged a couple of wickets for the Renegades and conceded only 25 runs in his 4-over quota. Adam Zampa and Peter Siddle celebrated a solitary wicket.
