So, that's the wrap and the end of another season of the Lanka Premier League 2023 as the fourth season comes to an end. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to you. We will be back tomorrow morning with more franchise cricket from all across the world. Until next time, it is time to say goodnight from me Ayan Chatterjee on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj alongside scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay safe, happy, and cool. CHEERS!
Now, the big moment has arrived. The President of Sri Lanka Cricket hands over the LPL trophy to skipper Wanindu Hasaranga and he will pose for photographs and will now take the trophy to his team mates. The celebrations go off and so does the fireworks. What a tournament they have had and they deserve to celebrate long into the night. Lots of performances to be proud of and well led by their inspirational leader Wanindu Hasaranga.
Wanindu Hasaranga: Need to thank the support staff. After losing the first two matches, we did really well in Kandy. Won three out of three.
The winners medal and cheque being presented to B-Love Kandy.
Kusal Mendis (Dambulla AURA Captain): "Not happy with the runs we got. Should have got 160 here. The bowlers bowled well and can't really fault them to be honest. I feel the LPL was conducted in a really good manner and we would prefer better wickets later on. Thank the crowds for their support throughout and would want the same support for the Asia Cup."
The runner up medal and cheque will now be presented to Dambulla AURA.
Safe Hands of the Tournament goes to David Miller.
Emerging Player of the Tournament goes to Lasith Croospulle.
The Green Cap for most runs in this tournament goes to Wanindu Hasaranga. The Orange Cap for most wickets also goes to Wanindu Hasaranga.
Maximum Sixes Award of the Tournament also goes to Wanindu Hasaranga.
Wanindu Hasaranga: "I am very happy that I contributed with the bat. Tried to do my best, be it batting or bowling. Our head coach, Mushtaq Ahmed asked me to bat in the top-order. I also wanted to follow my basic process. I try to do my best whether I am the captain or not. I was the 'Player of the Tournament' in the first edition also but this is special as I contributed with the bat."
Predictably, Wanindu Hasaranga has been named as the 'Player of the Tournament'.
Angelo Mathews: "Thank You. My body is feeling very good. Schedule was demanding. We had to rise to the occasion. We missed out on players and Wanindu missed out. We had to do it for him. I tried to give my 100%. He asked me can I bowl a few overs? I did that and contributed to the team's cause. Yes, credit to Dambulla as they had a great tournament as well. It was just our day. It was a good toss to lose. The bowlers did well to keep them to 147 on that pitch. Credit to Mushtaq and Wanindu who created a fantastic environment for us to play in. Credit to the fans and thank you to them for supporting us even here in Colombo."
Player of the Match: Angelo Mathews
The match officials, referees are being presented with their tournament mementos.
11:40 PM: Finally, it's time for the presentations.
Dinesh Chandimal: "It was a brilliant game of cricket. The credit goes to the coach and captain. Even after losing the first two games, they were calm and didn't let the pressure get to the others. We have a lot of experience and that is why we won as far I am concerned. Kamindu and Haris did a fantastic job in the Powerplay. Then, Mathews and Asif were superb too. After I was picked in the auction, said to Wanindu Hasaranga's parents that we will win the title for your son."
11:10 PM IST: What a terrific final we have had here in Colombo and after the match twisted from one team to another, it was B-Love Kandy who held their nerves to win by 5 wickets with a ball to spare. They lost so many players due to injuries and even they lost Hasaranga for the big final. They showed great character and resilience to win the final by 5 wickets with a ball to spare.

Let's recap the final for all of you. Chasing 148 for the win, B-Love Kandy needed a good start and they got that from their openers. Mohammad Haris scored 26. Kamindu Mendis impressed one and all with his 44 off 37 balls. Dinesh Chandimal got a start before he gave his wicket away. He scored 24 off 22 balls. Asif Ali played a crucial and important knock of 19 off 10 balls. But it was the skipper of the night Angelo Mathews who held his nerve with an unbeaten 25* off 21 balls and guided the ship home in the final over.

Dambulla AURA tried hard with the ball and almost won the game for his side. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for AURA with figures of 3/27 in 4 overs. Binura Fernando chipped in with a couple of wickets and finished with 2/31 in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers remained wicketless and they just could not defend the score.

Earlier in the game, Dambulla AURA won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost Avishka Fernando early. Skipper Kusal Mendis scored 22 off 23 balls. Sadeera looked good for his 36 off 30 balls. Dhananjaya de Silva played a stellar knock of 40 off 29 balls while Kusal Perera scored an unbeaten 31* off 25 balls. 11 extras were given by the fielding side as they finished with 147/4 in 20 overs.

Chaturanga de Silva was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/25 in 4 overs. A wicket for Nuwan Pradeep and Mohammad Hasnain. They bowled well and did well to keep them down to under 150 runs.

So, B-Love Kandy are the winners of LPL 2023 and heartiest congratulations to them. Stick around for the presentations.
Madushanka has done it for B-Love Kandy as they are crowned the champions of LPL 2023.
19.5 P Madushan to L Madushanka
4 B-LOVE KANDY WIN THE LPL! Short delivery, Madushanka tries to fend it away while he gets a top-edge which flies over the keeper for a boundary. What a thrilling win with a ball to spare. They get home even in the absence of Wanindu Hasaranga!
