So, that marks the end of our coverage of the 9th match of the WBBL 09 between Brisbane Heat Women and Sydney Sixers Women, where Brisbane Heat Women emerged out victorious by 3 wickets.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing-off alongside my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Don't go anywhere, switch the tabs to follow our live coverage of the South Africa-Bangladesh game of the Cricket World Cup 2023. Cheers!
Georgia Voll (Player of the Match): "It was a tight one. Thank God we got over the line there. You know, we've been in some tricky situations over the years and come up short, but it was nice to sort of everyone chip in in the back end and get us over the line.

I think we got off to a great start again and I sort of felt that my role through the middle was to try and ice the game. Unfortunately, I got out with a couple of overs to go, but, yeah, I sort of just wanted to knock the ball around, hit a boundary when it come, and take the game as deep as I could.

I think I've done a lot of work during the preseason sort of leading up to it and sort of knew my role was sort of closing out and trying to sneak in over through the middle and fortunately enough it's come out quite nicely and I've actually been able to get a couple more overs which has been nice as well.

Yeah, I actually think I only bowled one softball in the three over that I bowled, so it was working quite nicely, so I just stuck at it. I don't want to change too many things, I like to keep things as simple as possible. So, yeah, it was coming out nicely, so I stuck at it."

15:28 IST and 20:58 Local Time | Brisbane Heat Women defeated the Sydney Sixers Women in a very close encounter by 3 wickets and 6 balls remaining. The two time champion Sydney Sixers are yet to open their account in the WBBL 09 where the Brisbane Heat Women are at the top of the table with 6 points from the 3 matches.

Coming to chase 147 runs, Grace Harris started the run chase in an explosive way as she scored 39 runs facing just 19 balls, hitting 4 boundaries and 3 maximums. Although the opener, Georgia Redmayne failed to support her, she got good support from the number 3, Georgia Voll.

Georgia Voll anchored the innings throughout by keeping the scoreboard going with singles and doubles. Mignon du Preez and Voll registered a partnership of 31 runs from 28 balls. Voll departed scoring a fine 39 off 38 balls, hitting 4 boundaries and a six.

When Voll departed, Brisbane Heat Women required 38 from last 33 balls and the equation came down to 21 from the final 18 balls. Right then, Jess Jonassen, the well-settled batter in the crease, smacked a boundary and a maximum in back-to-back deliveries to keep the equation down to 9 from the final 2 overs. The penultimate over was quite exciting as Lauren Cheatle removed Jess Jonassen in the first ball and Charli Knott in the third ball. But the number 8 batter, Mikayla Hinkley smashed a low full toss for a maximum to level the scores and in the next ball, she took a single to score the winning run.

For, Sydney Sixers Women, Ashleigh Gardner took a couple of wickets giving 17 runs away. Lauren Cheatle and Maitlan Brown shared four wickets equally between them.

Earlier batting first, Sydney Sixers Women posted 146 runs on the board. Captain Ellyse Perry scored a nice 49 to give her team a good start but the failure from the other three top order batter's failures led them to a tough situation. But they came back in the game as Chloe Lesleigh Tryon played a 42 run knock. Jess Kerr played a good cameo of 11 runs facing just 6 balls.

For the Brisbane Heat Women, Nicola Hancock, Jess Jonassen and Courtney Sippel took a couple of wickets each while Georgia Voll scalped one wicket.

For her contribution with both bat and ball, Georgia Voll was adjudged the player of the match.

Sydney Sixers are back in the game!!! All thanks to Lauren Cheatle and shout out to Pelle who grabbed a stunner behind the stumps.
18.3 L Cheatle to C Knott
W WICKET! Wow, what a catch that was from the keeper, Pelle! Oh dear, oh dear, this game is not over yet! Full-length slower delivery around the tramline. Knott tries to heave it in the leg side but fails to reach the line of the ball properly as she gets the top edge of the bat on it. The ball flies to the right of the keeper and Pelle tumbles to her right, taking a good catch.
18.2 L Cheatle to M Hinkley
1 Around the wicket. Full-length around off-stump line. Hinkley leans forward and drives it to extra cover for a single.
