So that marks the end of our coverage from the first ODI of the three-match series between England Women and New Zealand Women. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Anirudh Modi and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar.
Fastest Woman to reach 50 WODI wickets-

1) Charlie Dean- 26 innings
2) Lyn Fullston- 27 innings
3) Laura Marsh and Rajeshwari Gayakwad- 28 innings
Heather Knight (England Women Captain): "Yes, it was good. The decisions were good. We were tested and glad we came out on top. Kate Cross was outstanding out there and bowled really well. Unlucky not to get a wicket. That was a great partnership and pleasing to see Jones and Dean do well for us. We managed to get over the line. It was nervous out there but the way we soaked up the pressure was great to see. Happy with the win, now onto Hamilton. See you out there."
Amelia Kerr (New Zealand Women Captain): "I think it is a bit of both. Got a good start. Suzie was outstanding. We lost wickets in the middle and then Kate Cross was brilliant. I think we did not have any answers to that. I think we should have got 220-230 but then almost defended it. We were one wicket away from win. The moment was Dean and Jones and they batted really well. It happens and we could not break the partnerships and then we lost it. Hope to improve it out there."
Amy Jones (Player of the Match): "I think it was about keeping it simple as possible and take it one at a time and keep it simple. Yes, I think so. Tried to be positive as possible and respected the good balls and bad balls. This innings is right up there and I have worked hard a lot on my batting. First game here was a shocker. Found it really hard. Today I enjoyed myself and enjoyed keeping. Thank You."

09:57 IST and 17:27 Local Time | England Women are coming out with flying colours defeating the White Ferns in the first ODI of the three match series.

England had sent the kiwi side to bat first in the game and the home side were off to a good start. Bernadine Bezuidenhout and Suzie Bates had registered a 90 run partnership inside 21 overs. Suzie Bates got out after scoring a fine 50. He stayed at the crease for 74 balls and hit 6 boundaries on her way. Once the opening partnership was broken, the wickets began to tumble for the Kiwi side. Bezuidenhout got out after scoring 35 runs facing 62 balls. After the openers got dismissed, Amelia Kerr and Georgia Plimmer added a few runs in the board. Kerr scored 24 runs facing 36 balls with a boundary. Plimmer got out after scoring 17 runs off 24 balls. White Ferns got in more trouble as Maddy Green(7) and Brooke Halliday(6) went back to the dressing room cheaply. Isabella Gaze contributed 18 and Hannah Rowe added crucial 16 runs off 20 balls to help their team go past the 200 run mark. A failure from the lower order made sure that the White Ferns could only post 207 runs on the board before getting bundled out.

Lauren Bell was the star of the English bowling picking up 3 wickets for 41 runs. Charlie Dean also took 3 wickets but she gave away 57 runs. Kate Cross was economical in her bowling as she gave just 24 runs away bowling 10 overs.

Coming to chase the run, England lost Tammy Beaumont(0) in the very first over. The boundaries came at a regular interval but they kept on losing the wickets too. Heather Knight scored 12 off 26 balls and she got out. Maia Bouchier was going well in her innings and she also got out quickly for a run-a-ball 31. Alice Capsey attempted a silly reverse sweep and she got out as LBW for a 10-ball duck. Nat Sciver-Brunt got a couple of boundaries and scored 12 runs off 10 balls before getting out. Danielle Wyatt accumulated runs at a brisk pace but a googly from Amelia Kerr curtailed her stay. She contributed just 16 before getting out.

England were in deep waters after getting reduced to 79 for 6. But from that position, Amy Jones and Charlie Dean started to put some fightback. Amy Jones took the bowlers on while Charlie Dean played the innings with complete control. Together they rotated the strike very well and also added a few boundaries, mostly the boundaries came from Amy Jones. Amy reached her 12th fifty in WODI and continued to maintain the run rate. They registered the highest 7th wicket partnership in women's ODI which is now off 130 runs. Amy Jones remained unbeaten on 92 runs hitting 10 boundaries from the 83 balls she faced. Charlie Dean was not out on 42 facing 70 balls with a boundary. That boundary came in the very final ball of the game.

For the New Zealand bowlers, Amelia Kerr and Jess Kerr took a couple of wickets each. Lea Tahuhu also took a wicket.

Stick around for the post match presentations.
41.2 F Jonas to C Dean
4 FOUR! Short and wide outside off, Dean cuts it away through the covers into the gap as the ball races away to the cover fence for a boundary to end the match. Dean hits the winning runs as England script a memorable win from out of nowhere to win by 4 wickets after being 79/6 at one stage.
41.1 F Jonas to C Dean
0 Fuller length around off, Dean looks to wind up and then decides to defend.
Lea Tahuhu finishes with 1 for 56.

200 up for England in 40.5 overs. They need 7 more from 55 balls now.
