That's all from our today's coverage. This is Gourav Samal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Saptak Sanyal and Sourya Chowdhury and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Thank you for joining us and stay tuned for more cricketing actions all around the world. Good night.
This tour will next move to the WODIs which is scheduled to begin from April 9, 2024.
Sri Lanka Women gather together with the trophy for a photo session. All smiles on the faces.
Chamari Athapaththu (Player of the Match and Sri Lanka Captain)- "I just tried to play my natural game. I knew it was a must win game for us and I just played my game. We played positive cricket. We barely talk negative in our dressing room, that's it. I am proud of Harshitha Madavi. She is playing some good cricket for us. Kavisha has also played good cricket for us. Yes we have to play the games at Abu Dhabi well too. Then we will focus on the world cup qualifiers."
Player of the Match- Chamari Athapaththu
Laura Wolvaardt (Player of the Series and South Africa captain)- "Definitely disappointing to be on the losing side. Chamari batted really well. It was a bit of a reverse in this series, we started this series really well but then lost momentum. The conditions were tough, we did not have enough runs on the board, it was slow and low. And the dew cost us in the second. Chamari was excellent, a batter of her quality really made the determination. We pulled it back in the end but it was not enough. It was a tough innings for me, they bowled well at me. We need to work on our fielding, hold on to our catches. We will have better plans for Chamari in the ODIs."
Player of the Series- Laura Wolvaardt.
This is the highest successful run chase by Sri Lanka in WT20I. They have chased down a target over 150 for the first time.
12:34 IST and 21:04 Local Time | That's it. Sri Lanka Women won the match by 4 wickets with five balls remaining. Defeating South Africa Women at their home is not a small achievement. Sri Lankan Women have proved their prowess on the field in last two matches of the series after losing the first.

Let's have a look at what happened in the match.

Skipper Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits opened the innings for South Africa Women after they lost the toss and put into bat first. Tazmin got dismissed for 7 of 9 balls. They were then down to 65/3 in 8.4 overs as Marizanne kapp and Sune Luus couldn’t survive longer on the crease. Wolvaardt was then joined by Anneke Bosch in the middle, who scored 27 of 21 balls before getting dismissed. When it looked like Sri Lanka would restrict the home side to something below 140, Nadine de Klerk took the charge and scored 44 of just 25 balls. Laura Wolvaardt remained the only batter to cross the half-century mark in the innings. She scored 56 of 47 balls and helped his team to post a total of 155/6 in 20 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Sugandika Kumari was the pick of the bowler who took 3/24 in four overs, while Inoshi Priyadharshani, Udeshika Prabodhani and Kavisha Dilhari picked one wicket each in the innings.

With a target of 156 on board, Vishmi Gunaratne and Chamari Athapaththu opened the innings for Sri Lanka. They faced an early setback as Gunaratne was dismissed for 1 of 3 balls in the second over of the innings. Athapaththu was then joined by Harshitha Madavi in the middle. The duo put up a partnership of 97 runs before Athapaththu getting dismissed for 73 of 46 runs. With less contribution from the middle order, Madavi anchored the innings to help Sri Lanka Women register a historic series win in South Africa. She remained unbeaten on 54 of 43 balls.

For South Africa, Nadine de Klerk took two wickets in the match, while Marizanne Kapp, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Eliz-mari Marx and Tumi Sekhukhune chipped in with one wicket each.

19.1 A Khaka to H Madavi
1 THAT'S THE VICTORY!! Sri Lanka Women create history here by defeating South Africa Women in their den for the first time in T20 internationals. Harshitha Madavi lifts her bat and hugs Sugandika Kumari. The fielders in the dugout are elated, too, and why not? It is a great day in their cricketing history.

Coming to the ball, fuller than length at the middle stump. Madavi drives it to the left of extra cover, and the fielder dives to stop the ball. It deflects towards mid-off hitting her left hand and Madavi completes the run by running at the danger end. WHAT A WIN!

18.6 Klerk to S Kumari
0 Sugandika Kumari survives! Nadine bowls a good length delivery around the leg stump. She tries to tuck it through the on side but wears it on her pads. Loud appeal for LBW but gets denied.
Sugandika Kumari comes into bat at no.8 and will face the hat-trick ball. Can she survive or de Klerk will pick the third one in a row?

18.5 Klerk to A Sanjeewani
W TWO-in-TWO from Nadine de Klerk!! But as the scores are levelled, we can say it is way too late. Nadine steams in from over the stumps and pitches the yorker at the off and middle stump line. Sanjeewani tries to drive but the ball beats her to crash on to her middle stump. She will be on a hat-trick next ball.
