Milestone
That is it from our live coverage. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this game. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
Michael-Kyle Pepper (POTM): "When you bat in the Powerplay, you need to be aggressive, it's the right time to bat with pace on. The ball was skidding a bit in the second innings. It had quickened up a bit, which helped us as well. Somedays the innovation didn't go our way, somedays it goes well. Sometimes the Powerplay goes either way. It can be either scoring runs or losing plenty of wickets. Tonight, it went our way."
Player of the Match: Michael-Kyle Pepper
Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Captain): "We didn't really tick many boxes. But once you took wickets in the Powerplay on a regular basis, that sets up the tone. David Willey was bowling well, and with three in the Powerplay, I thought it was good to go with him with the fourth because we have an extra cushion with the impact player. We are getting the momentum at the right time. Hopefully, we continue the same in the remaining games."
James Vince (Gulf Giants Captain): "Yeah, I thought that we got an ideal score on the board, but we didn't have a good outing with the ball in the Powerplay. We came back fighting in the last half of the innings, but it wasn't quite enough. I had a chat with Carlos, with us giving 10-15 extra runs away early on, which eased their pressure. The feedback from the guys was that there was seam movement and a bit of spin, but to be honest, there was nothing much on offer on that pitch. Nothing much. We need to tighten up a bit and play good in the last couple of games."
Biggest Six of the Match: Andre Russell
11:45 PM IST and 22:15 Local Time: Andre Russell finished things off beautifully to propel Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to third place in the points table with a 6-wicket win over the defending champions!

After being put into bat first, Gulf Giants lost early wickets with David Willey bowling a magnificent new ball spell. Chris Lynn continued his good run of form and blasted a half-century, but his partner Jordan Cox struggled for timing in the 3rd wicket partnership of 72 runs.

Gulf Giants failed to find proper momentum in the final half of the innings, with losing wickets at the wrong time. Cameos from Usman Khan and Shimron Hetmyer did hit a few lusty blows that took the Giants' score to 161/6 in 20 overs.

For the Knight Riders, Russell and Wasim grabbed a couple of wickets, while Willey and Ali Khan picked up one each.

Gulf Giants' bowlers were all over the place with the new ball and allowed free runs to the Knight Riders, with the openers adding 62 runs for the first wicket. Joe Clarke did struggle to score freely, but Michael-Kyle Pepper took the attack to the bowlers and clobbered a half-century, setting a strong foundation for the batters to come.

Laurie Evans and Alishan Sharafu failed to score big, but Sam Hain and Andre Russell made sure that the Knight Riders chased the target down with 10 balls remaining despite a small rain break in between!

For Gulf Giants, Mujeeb bagged a couple of wickets, while Zubair and Gleeson picked up one each.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
18.2 Rahman to A Russell
6 SIXXXX!!!!! Russell finishes things off in style! Good length delivery outside the off-stump. Russell sets himself on the front foot and creates a strong base to power it down the ground for a huge six. He gets it off the toe end, but the power of the man takes it deep into the night sky. The Knight Riders win by 6 wickets and move to the third spot in the points table!
18.1 Rahman to S Hain
1 Over the wicket, short and outside off, Hain cuts it to sweeper cover for one. Over to you, Andre Russell.
The fourth umpire chips in with a ball box. Mujeeb Ur Rahman comes back into the attack.

17.6 J Overton to A Russell
6 SIXXX!!! Toe end of the bat and also a one-handed six! Only Russell can hit these! With a low full toss angling into the stumps, Russell clears his front leg and heaves it, as well as loses the bottom hand off the bat. But has enough power on it to clear Brathwaite's chase to his right from long-on. The ball is lost in the covers on the sidelines. Only 5 to win in 12 balls!
17.5 J Overton to S Hain
1 Yorker length at the off-stump, flicked through square leg for a single.
17.4 J Overton to A Russell
1 Full outside off, Russell clears his front leg, gets down on one knee and inside edges a slog onto the pads for a single.
17.3 J Overton to A Russell
2 Full, outside off, Russell clears his front leg and goes for a big one. Doesn't get underneath it and cue ends it high in the air and gets it just away from James Vince, who, from mid-off, runs behind and dives but fails to take it. A couple of runs.
17.2 J Overton to A Russell
6 SIXXXX!!! Andre Russell clubs it way over the fence!!! Massive six of 82m. Short and angled into the body of the batter, who clears his front leg and hoicks it away over deep square leg for a biggie. What a strike off the splice of the bat.
17.1 J Overton to S Hain
1 Over the wicket, full, outside off, 140.8 kmph, Hain shuffles across and mistimes the scoop to long leg for a single.
