That brings the curtains on our coverage of this BPL game between the Rangpur Riders and the Khulna Tigers. For now, it will be the pair of Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of Saptak Sanyal, my co-commentator and our Scorer/ Analyst for the day, Paras Yadav. See you soon!
Nurul Hasan Sohan (Rangpur Riders Captain)- "We lost two early wickets but Shakib and Mahedi took the onus and got the going for us. Yes, we lost Babar Azam but Reeza Hendricks, Jimmy Neesham and Imran Tahir joined the squad later on and together we are doing in the game. I think our squad is doing well and hope that we can go all the way continuing the form."
Imran Tahir (Player of the Match)- "It is a lot of hard work which none can see but I am glad that I am delivering. I think it is a good opportunity for me to play for Rangpur. I just kept on bowling the right lines and deliver according to my best. It is a good thing to get a fifer. I contributed to the team and achieved a personal milestone.
I used to bowl three hours a day in the nets but now I keep the timing flexible. I think every youngster should practice around three hours a day to grip the art of leg spin.
I do the Ronaldo-celebration for my son. He is not happy with once, so I do every time(laughs)."
Player of the Match- Imran Tahir
Anamul Haque Bijoy (Khulna Tigers Captain)- "We didn't play well team wise and we failed to execute in both bat and ball. We had won the first four games but we lost four games. Alex Hales loves to open the innings and Lewis is an in-form opener. So I thought of giving them to bat in their comfortable position and I went to bat at number 3. Team wise we are not doing well but it is good sign for us to see Luke Wood and Nahid Rana in good form. We will look to perform well in the next games."
21:26 IST, 21:56 Local time- The Khulna Tigers have been bowled out for a meagre 141 in 18.2 overs and it has been an absolute demolition job from the Rangpur Riders! They've been clinical with the ball after being superb with the bat early on. It has been a collapse of epic proportions from the Khulna side who looked to be in the chase at the halfway stage when they were only three down.
The Khulna Tigers started off well with the two foreign openers but Lewis fell soon as he was trapped in front of the stumps by Shakib Al Hassan. Anamul Haque didn't lost long either as he was dismissed by Tahir but the Hales show continued unperturbed from the other end. The big man from UK brought up his 50 in 24 balls and at the halfway stage of the innings, he had still kept his team in the hunt with his superb hitting.
The trouble for the Tigers began as Imran Tahir ran through the middle order in over itself picking up the wickets of Akbar Ali and Alex Hales. Nahidul Islam didn't last long either as he was cleaned up by a peach of a delivery from James Neesham. The Tigers were reeling at 100/6 and the writing seemed to be on the cards for them.
Luke Wood and Nasum Ahmed hung around for a while and swung their bat around for a bit but they could only add some respectability to the score. Mahedi Hasan came back to clean up Nasum, while Hasan Mahmud got rid of Luke Wood. Shakib Al Hasan picked up the final wicket of the innings as he cleaned up Nahid Hasan and completed a job really well done for his side as they clinched an emphatic win by 78 runs.
W WICKET!!!!! Shakib bowls a full length delivery angling at the middle and leg. Nahid Rana comes out of his crease to hit it over long on but misses it completely and the ball kisses the bails and it's all over for the Khulna Tigers. They have lost the game by 78 runs.
18.1 Hasan to N Rana
0 Shakib comes for his final over. From round the wicket. Full delivery outside off. Rana goes for the sweep but misses.
Shakib Al Hasan [3.0-0-30-0] comes back into the attack.
Rangpur are on the cusp of a huge win here and they only need one wicket to clean things up!

17.6 H Mahmud to M Islam
0 Low full toss angling at the pads. Islam moves his feet a tad to whip it over on side but misses it completely.
17.5 H Mahmud to N Rana
1 Fuller delivery at the off stump. Rana steers it to point fielder's right for a single.
W Finally Wood gets dismissed!!!!!!! Mahmud takes the pace off and bowls exactly the same length as the previous delivery at the outside off line. Wood moves leg side and swings his bat to get a huge top edge. The cover fielder comes to the line of the ball and takes the catch easily.
