Sam Cook (Player of the Match)- "It is pleasing to get wickets. Hopefully, I will continue my good going tomorrow. I just tried to execute the lengths and sticked to the plans. I got familiar players in this league and getting the wicket of Jos in the powerplay was the key for us. I think the condition was nice for bowling providing a good carry. I've really enjoyed bowling here."

Faf du Plessis (Joburg Super Kings Captain): "Who does not like an underdog Polly? Feels like things are starting to fall in place from a batting perspective, giving our bowlers to do their trick. Confidence is such a big factor in sport.
I've played with Tahir for 12 years and that's the best he has fielded. Great credit to him for taking catches like that, the people are cheering for him. I felt like anything under 160 it would be great and if we had a good start in the powerplay, we would be in.
We are excited and we know it's hard to go back-to-back-to-back but feels like the guys are really hungry and in front of the home crowd as well, if we get off to a good start then we are in."

David Miller (Paarl Royals Captain)- "It is a disappointing game for us after a great campaign. In the game, there's always a winner and a loser and unfortunately we are on the losing side. I think in the key moments, we didn't step up. We got the game slipped in few overs. You know, in the shorter format,1-2 overs can change the game. But nevertheless, we played a great campaign. In this tournament, the games come thick and fast. You play a game every second day. Glad we qualified and played well."

Joburg Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first, and after an initial flurry from Jason Roy and Jos Buttler, Samuel James Cook struck twice in one over to open the floodgates.
Paarl Royals never recovered after that as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and despite their skipper Miller's best efforts, Paarl could only register 138 all-out after 18.5 overs. Debutant cook was the pick of the bowlers as he registered the best ever figures for a debutant with 4/24 from his 3.5 overs!
Come the chase, the total was not big but Joburg Super Kings needed to get off to a good start and that's just what du Plooy managed to do! The southpaw established a century stand for the opening wicket with Faf du Plessis, enroute to a blistering 68 runs from 43 balls!
