So that is an end to our live coverage as well. Plenty of Test matches going around across the globe. Sri Lanka win this Only Test by 10 wickets and head into the white-ball series with confidence, with the first ODI taking place in Pallekele on Friday (February 9).

For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur, brought you all the live-action of this red-ball game. We will meet again in another game. Until then, its cheers!
Dhananjaya de Silva collects the trophy and now takes it to his teammates. Now, they will pose for the photographs.
Dhananjaya de Silva (Sri Lanka Captain): "No idea about it (on becoming the 8th Sri Lankan captain to win a Test match on captaincy debut). Thank you. It is quite a tough task to lead a team which has many experienced players in it. It was a challenge, but I enjoyed it.

It was very challenging to bat with them bowling well. Yeah, I think Angelo and I got out in the last part of day 2. I thought it could have been the turning point in the game. But our bowlers kept executing the plans and bowled really tight lines and lengths. Afghanistan came back well, but our bowlers stuck to the plans and didn't give away many runs.

That's the way to play Test cricket, keep it tight, once you get one wicket, you can get 2-3. (on playing 3 pacers and 1 spinner) There was grass on this wicket, and two spinners wouldn't have been ideal on this pitch. Angelo was tired, it was definitely my fault (on run-out), I could have stayed on the crease. I should have realised that he was batting on 100."
Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "Yes, boys played well. Feel disappointed. First day was the day we played badly. Sri Lanka were on top and then we let it slip. Yesterday, we came back well. I think lack of opportunities in Test cricket is why we are suffering. We need to play more games and get better at it. Next game we have against Ireland soon. We don't have much opportunity in red ball cricket. We have addressed that. This year we have more games 9 of them. Hope we gain experience and get better at it. Hope to do well in the coming Test matches."
Rahmat Shah gets the Most Boundaries Award.
Prabath Jayasuriya (POTM): "Yeah, actually, I am really happy at the moment. The last couple of days have been very tough. We knew that it was a good batting wicket. We tried to stick to our basics. No, actually, on this wicket, we need to bowl it a bit slow and really happy to get a fifer."
Prabath Jayasuriya is the Player of the Match.
2:46 PM: Time for the post-match presentations...
2:40 PM: So, Sri Lanka wins by 10 wickets and complete the formalities and win the only Test match. Afghanistan were good in patches but were not good enough to challenge Sri Lanka for long periods of time.

Let's recap you the entire Test match played out over the last 4 days. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first and skittled Afghanistan out for 198. Only Rahmat Shah played well for his 91 while Noor Ali Zadran scored 31. The others never really contributed much as Vishwa Fernando led from the front with the ball for Sri Lanka with 4 wickets while Asitha Fernando and Prabath Jayasuriya chipped in with 3 wickets apiece.

Sri Lanka, in reply, responded with 439 with Dimuth Karunaratne scoring 77 while there were splendid centuries from Angelo Mathews (141) and Dinesh Chandimal (107) as the veteran cricketers led from the front. Sadeera scored 27 off 33 balls as well. For Afghanistan, Naveed Zadran was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets to his name. A couple of wickets apiece for Nijat Masood, and Qais Ahmad as they showed their hearts out there.

Faced with a huge deficit, it was a better reply from Afghanistan as Ibrahim Zadran led from the front with a magnificent 114 off 259 balls. Noor Ali Zadran looked good for his 47 off 136 ballsRahmat Shah looked good for his 54 off 119 balls. But Afghanistan lost their way today losing wickets in a heap. Nasir Jamal held one end up and scored a valuable 41*. But they were bowled out for 296 in 112.3 overs as they lost their way from 1/199 today. Prabath Jayasuriya was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5/107 in 47 overs. Asitha Fernando bowled well for his 3/63 in 21.3 oversA couple of wickets for Kasun Rajitha as well for 59 runs in 20 overs. Rajitha did well as a concussion substitute.

Chasing 56 for the win, Sri Lanka completed the formalities by chasing 56 down in 7.2 overs. Dimuth Karunaratne was unbeaten on 32* off 22 balls. Nishan Madushka was unbeaten on 22* off 23 balls. Afghanistan had a very low score to defend and tried using 4 bowlers but to no avail as the Test was completed inside 4 days. Sri Lanka wins the one-off Test by 10 wickets.

Stay tuned for the presentations.
Dimuth Karunaratne hits the winning runs as Sri Lanka win this game by 10 wickets. They deserve the win in the end although Afghanistan showed great heart to fight against Sri Lanka.
