Well that's all for today folks! Join us back tomorrow as PSL 9 rolls on along with all the cricketing action from around the world!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal, and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav! See you on the next one!
Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain)- "I think when you win, your mistakes get covered. We struggled from a few loses and today we bounced back stronger and that shows the spirit of the team. I want to mention our fielding, we were not upto the mark. Fielding wise we should do well and as a bowling unit we need to do well also. Pollard batted well and we should have done better to take his wicket."
Colin Munro (Player of the Match): "It is a great start for me in this tournament, took the last game till the end and could have done it in this game too but happy to contribute. Luke Ronchi was playing here and when we opened the batting, it was all about dominating the powerplay. The wickets haven't been as fast as earlier seasons so we have had to adjust and adapt but we have done that well.

Playing each ball on it's merit and once you are in, ensure you take it to the end. Unfortunately, no one took it to the end but we left a bit out there."
Player of the Match: Colin Munro
Superpower of the Day: Alex Hales (47 runs off 35 balls)
Energetic batter of the Match: Colin Munro (82 runs off 47 balls)
Moment of the Match: Colin Munro (Hat-trick of MAXIMUMs vs Shamsi)
Time for the post match presentation ceremony...
Shan Masood (Karachi Kings Captain)- "You'll always feel that you are 15-20 run short when you lose. When I went to the surface, I thought anything around 170 would be a good option for us. In the later stages, the dew came and caused trouble in gripping and thus I second you, we were 15-20 runs short. Yes our top order needs to perform better now and we have to give them a few more games to settle to a new condition but yes we need more runs from the top order."
Mike Hesson- "We started well with the ball and we were not that well with the powerplay since the last game and Alex Hales and Colin Munro's partnership was crucial for us. Controlling the controllable are surely the key. We bounced back after a few loses. The over of Shamsi against Munro was the crucial over here for us."
11:10 PM IST, 10:40 PM Local Time | Islamabad United have romped to an emphatic victory over the home side! They pick up their second win of the season as they defeat Karachi Kings by 7 wickets to take the W and the points home!

Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first, and thanks to some disciplined bowling by their bowling unit, they managed to pick up wickets regularly and only due to Pollard's unbeaten 48 runs off 28 balls, the Karachi Kings were able to register a competitive total of 165/5 at the end of their 20 overs. Irfan Khan's unbeaten 27 runs off 22 balls was crucial as well.

Come the chase, the opening duo of Hales and Munro adjusted quickly to the pace of the wicket and established a 108 run opening stand to take the game away from Karachi Kings. Alex Hales fell short of his half-century at 47 runs off 35 balls and Colin Munro was the top scorer for Islamabad United with a blistering 82 runs off 47 balls!

Karachi Kings had a sniff back in the game when they picked up the wickets of Hales, Munro and Wasim in quick succession but Agha Salman and skipper Shadab Khan ensured that their team crossed the finish line!

The race for playoffs heats up even further with Islamabad's second victory of the season. This puts them on the 4th position in the table, ahead on NRR but Karachi have a game in hand. Karachi will be disappointed with the loss tonight and will go back to the drawing board to get back on track!
18.3 H Ali to A Salman
6 That's the victory for the Islamabad United and Agha Salman finishes things off in style! Short of length delivery at the off stump line. Agha moves to the leg side of the ball and pulls it over deep square leg for a maximum.
