So Islamabad United dominated that game in all the departments to claim a win. It is time for me, Sourya Chowdhury, to bid you goodnight on behalf of me, my fellow commentator Ayan Chatterjee and our scorer/statistician Paras Yadav. See you soon.
Shadab Khan (Player of the Match and Islamabad United captain): "Pitch was spongy early on. And we had to keep on showing intent because once you get momentum it is tough to stop you here. There was no total in mind, the boundaries are short and we tried to go for as much as we can. We believed in ourselves and since the ball was seaming and bouncing, I had faith in our bowling line-up to claim a win. I am in rhythm with the ball, thankfully, and our team is performing well, and is in rhythm. Our team has tried different combinations but now we possibly have the right combination going."
Player of the Match: Shadab Khan.
Super Power of the Day: Hunain Shah.
Energetic Batter of the Match: Aamer Jamal.
Moment of the Match: Alex Hales.
Time for the presentations.
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "Yes, we lost wickets at the top. This was a par score. We needed a good start and then we lost wickets in the powerplay. Jamal played a great knock. It was interesting, but no damage is done. Yes, it was a wrong call on my part the run out that happens and is part of the game. Yes, I back my decision to chase. Chasing is easy in Pindi and we have seen that before and we saw that today after 6-10 overs of chase. Batting is strong, but we lost wickets at intervals. We did well to keep them down to under 200 but batting failed. Positives are there. Aamer played well. Bowling was good and early wickets helped us a lot. Yes, very cold today. Yes, enjoying it."
Hunain Shah: "Yes, thanks To Allah. Great opportunity for me. The team mates are supporting me and Islamabad United supports me and I am happy to do well for my side. Naseem bowled well in the first over. My plan was simple. Bowl simple hard lengths and get rewards. He is experienced and he is our best bowler in the country. He has experience and gives me advice. Just stick to basics is what he tells me. As a bowler, you have to learn everyday. So, just keep improving and getting better every day for me is the goal. Shadab is a great leader. He is a friendly figure for me and talks and treats us like a friend and not as captain."

10:43pm Local Time, 11:13pm IST: Sourya: Islamabad United have done it. An immaculate bowling performance, especially in the powerplay, has helped them defend what appeared to be a slightly below-par total on a ground considered a bowler's graveyard. They have run out victors over Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs.
Peshawar, chasing, 197 to win, were rocked back in the very second ball, as talismanic captain Babar Azam was run out for a duck. Thereafter, Naseem Shah (1/26) and his brother Hunain Shah (2/25), along with Rumman Raees (2/28), used the swinging ball to devastating effect, with the Zalmi reduced to 18/5 in the first powerplay.

A fine century partnership between Aamir Jamal (87 off 49), who played the innings of his life, and Paul Walter kept them in the game, but Shadab Khan (3/41), caused damage with his googlies later. In the end, it proved too big a mountain to climb for Babar’s wards.

Earlier, Shadab led his team with the willow as well, hitting a brilliant 80 off 51 to help his team to 196, with good contributions by Azam Khan, Jordan Cox and Salman Ali Agha backing him up after Saim Ayub had struck early to rock them back. Shadab was in fine fettle, hitting some gorgeous sixes and elegant fours to help his team to a total they will be able to defend later on.
