Milestone
That's all from this high-scoring thriller, folks! We hope you enjoyed our coverage and it's time to bid adieu. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. CHEERS!
Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain): "We have full confidence in our players as match-winners, and they proved it today. The pitch was a typical one for Rawalpindi. While we've had trouble finishing matches before, today's victory is an encouraging sign.

Munro might have had a slow start, but we always believed in his abilities and supported him. We'll try to give him milk and turmeric powder to get him fit and hopefully, he will make a swift recovery(Laughs)."
Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans Captain): "In high-scoring matches like these, the finishing touches make all the difference, and they executed them brilliantly. Despite our plans for Munro, we couldn't quite execute them effectively after the injury.

It's clear we made some mistakes, including some incorrect field placements from my end. I'll take this as a learning opportunity and aim to rectify these errors in the next match."
Colin Munro (Player of the Match): "It was indeed a hell of a game! Although our bowling performance wasn't up to the mark, Usman Khan's batting was exceptional. Losing Alex Hales early was disappointing, but my injury somehow turned things around. Surprisingly, the injury eased the pressure and sparked something mentally. It's funny how the game works sometimes.

I was struggling with form, but this setback seemed to reignite my spark. Imad Wasim's batting today was truly impressive, especially under such pressure. Now, I'll have to see how my body holds up, but honestly, I'm uncertain about my condition. Nevertheless, I'll make every effort to recover and get back on the field."
Player of the Match: Colin Munro
Energetic batter of the Match: Usman Khan
Moment of the Match: Imad Wasim.
Time for the post-match presentation....
Imad Wasim: "Last year, we faced a similar situation but couldn't pull through. This time, I'm thrilled that we could get the job done! It was a familiar scenario facing the same bowler, but this time it ended in our favor.

We had a strong belief in our ability to chase down any target on this pitch. The partnership between Shadab and Colin was outstanding, and my pairing with Faheem was the icing on the cake. I've been struggling with my form recently, so today I made a conscious effort to bat more responsibly and take the innings deeper.

Usman Khan's innings was truly remarkable, and Colin showed incredible intensity with the bat, especially after his injury. As we head into the playoffs, our focus is to be razor-sharp. We know anything can happen in those matches, so we need to stay positive, press for wins, and maintain our momentum."
6:28 PM IST, 5:58 PM Local Time: PHEW! What we just witnessed is nothing but a miraculous performance by Islamabad United, as they chased down a mammoth 228 runs by 3 wickets. Thanks to Imad Wasim for his rapid 13-ball 30* runs knock. This match was an absolute treat for cricket enthusiasts, witnessing a total of 460 runs scored in a thrilling encounter.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Multan Sultans got off to a rollicking start as Yasir Khan went honkers and bonkers from the word go and scored rapidly, laying a solid foundation for his team. Yasir and Mohammad Rizwan added 44 runs for the first wicket, with Yasir departing for 16-ball 33 runs. Rizwan contributed 20 runs off 17 balls.

Usman Khan and Johnson Charles paired up in the middle, and the pair continued a similar approach to batting and added 86 runs for the third wicket, with Charles departing after playing a rapid knock of 18-ball 42 runs.

Usman continued his carnage and notched up his century off just 50 balls, helping his side post a mammoth 228/4 in 20 overs.

Faheem Ashraf bagged a couple of wickets for Sultans, while Naseem Shah and Hunain Shah celebrated a solitary wicket.

In pursuit of a hefty 229 runs, Islamabad United lost Alex Hales and Agha Salman cheaply inside the two overs, but Colin Munro and Shadab Khan had some other plans today, as the duo came out all guns blazing and pummeled the Sultans bowlers all around the park, with Munro reaching his fifty in a jiffy.

After watching Munro go honkers and bonkers, Shadab also switched gears and notched up his fifty but failed to convert it into a big score as Abbas Afridi removed the skipper, and Azam Khan in the same over to bring the Sultans back in the hunt.

Munro, who was looking in scintillating form, also failed to bat till the end and departed for 40-ball 84 runs, falling prey to Jordan, and all of a sudden Islamabad United came in a spot of bother.

Haider Ali and Faheem Ashraf played vital cameos, contributing 19 and 23 runs respectively, to keep the run chase alive. However, it was Imad Wasim who stole the show with a destructive display of batting. He single-handedly took charge in the last two overs, smashing 30 runs off just 13 balls to seal the victory for Islamabad United and secure their spot in the playoffs.

Abbas Afridi bagged three wickets for Multan Sultans but failed to defend 13 runs in the last over. Mohammad Ali chipped in with a couple of wickets, while David Willey and Chris Jordan shared a solitary wicket.

Stick around for the post-match presentation....

4 FOUR! PHEW! Imad Wasim, remember the name! Celebration in the camp of Islamabad United, as they are qualified for the playoffs. Shadab Khan is pumped up and so are his teammates, shows some aggression in the dressing room! Abbas goes for the yorker but errs in length and bowls a full-length near 4th stump line. Imad swings through the line and drills it straight as an arrow for a cracking boundary to seal the game for his side. Islamabad United win by 3 wickets in the last-ball thriller and they qualify for the playoffs.
Man Oh Man! Imad Wasim has nailed it. Can you believe it? Wow! Islamabad United spoiled the party of the Karachi Kings. Whether the Kings get there to the final four is still a question, but the United are surely there.

6 In the air and it sails over the ropes for a biggie! Imad, you beauty! The scores are level now! Full-length around the off-stump line. Imad backs away and tad and bludgeons it straight down the ground for a biggie. A loud cheer in the crowd and Azam Khan in the dugout is pumped up, punches in the air. 1 needed off 1 balls. Super over anyone?
