That wraps up the final match of the league stage of WPL 2024. Delhi Capitals have secured their spot directly in the final, while RCB Women will go head-to-head against MI Women in the eliminator.

It’s time to warp up this coverage as well. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Shafali Verma (Player of the Match): "Today I tried to play straight. I respected the good balls and if there was an opportunity within my reach, I was ready to seize it. I relied on my strengths, and fortunately, they paid off today.

I felt in good form and was determined to stay at the crease until the end. It's disappointing that I couldn't finish the innings today.

I always strive to give my best in fielding, aiming to prevent as many runs as I can. Our management emphasizes the importance of fielding and has made it a priority to focus on this aspect, with the goal of limiting the opposition's scoring opportunities."
Player of the Match: Shafali Verma.
Meg Lanning is the leading run scorer so far in WPL 2024 and receives the orange cap.
Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals Women Skipper): "Yeah, it was nice that it wasn't close. Those close-finishes have been very stressful. Shafali was excellent. When she plays like that, she makes it look so easy. She hits a long ball.

I think we had good patches in all games. We were close to a perfect game tonight. We are gaining confidence as the tournament has progressed and happy with it.

We lost the first game but have done a lot of things right since then. Qualifying for the final directly gives a big advantage and we will sit back and enjoy the semi-final. Don't want to be playing that.

Both sides are quality sides. They have match-winners on their side and it will be a good contest. Just sit back and enjoy."
Sixes of the Match: Shafali Verma (5 sixes)

Time for the post-match presentation....
Shikha Pandey: "We are all ecstatic. The efforts of our management in finding the right balance for the team were truly exciting.

Minu's performance with the ball today was exceptional, especially as a spinner. Our team spirit is fantastic, with bowlers constantly communicating and discussing plans and lengths that work well on this wicket. We have a wealth of experienced players who we're constantly learning from.

We bounce ideas off each other and communicate with each other to ensure we execute our plans effectively. While we're delighted when Shafali is batting so well, as bowlers ourselves, we can't help but sympathize with the bowlers on the field."
Beth Mooney (Gujarat Giants Women Skipper): “Yeah, we probably have been outplayed in all facets of the game. Didn’t get many runs on the board and leaked too many runs. We will try to take some positives from this season.

We have had some individual performances throughout the competition that have helped us compete and win a few. We saw Mannat Kashyap come in and bowl well. TK as well as Laura Wolvaardt who batted really well at the top of the order.

Shabnam is a great player. She is a good kid. She always has a smile on her face and has a great attitude. I’m sure she has a brought future. It has been really excited on see her bowl.

Disappointed and maybe have a new captain because I haven’t had the best of times with the bat. From my point of view, it was great to work with Michael Klinger and a few of them. We will look to analyze and come prepared when we come up for the next season."
10:04 PM IST, Local Time: A thumping win for Delhi Capitals Women, as they win by 7 wickets and 37 balls to spare. Also, they retain the top spot in the points table and directly qualify for the final.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Gujarat Giants Women started their innings on a lackluster note, as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were reeling at 48/5 when Bharati Fulmali and Kathryn Bryce joined hands in the middle and steadied the sinking ship by adding 68 runs for the sixth wicket. Fulmali looked in sublime touch but fell just 8 runs short of her fifty, while Bryce remained unbeaten on 28 runs, helping her side post a respectable 126/9 in 20 overs.

Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, and Minnu Mani shared a couple of wickets each for Delhi Capitals, while Jess Jonassen contributed one wicket to GG’s downfall.

In pursuit of a paltry 126 runs, Delhi Capitals Women got off to a rollicking start as Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma came out all guns blazing, scoring rapidly from the word go. However, they failed to maintain the momentum as Lanning got run out for 18 runs. She was soon followed by Alice Capsey, who departed for a duck.

Shafali continued her merry ways and played a scintillating knock of 71 runs, while Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten on 38 runs and sealed the game for the Capitals with a boundary. DC won by 7 wickets and 37 balls to spare, qualifying directly for the final of WPL 2024.

Tanuja Kanwar celebrated a couple of wickets for GG, while the wicket of Meg fell in the form of a run-out.

Stick around for the post-match presentation...
13.1 M Kashyap to J Rodrigues
4 FOUR!!! That's it. The Delhi Capitals Women chase down 127 in just 13.1 overs with seven wickets in hand. A comprehensive victory for them. This was a short delivery from Mannat outside off, Rodrigues stays back and cuts it powerfully past the backward point fielder for a boundary. No protection in the deep and it runs away to the fence in a flash.
