So, we are done with nine matches in this season of IPL and all games have been won by the home side. Will it change tomorrow when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru host the Kolkata Knight Riders. Let's wait and see.

Do join us tomorrow for that clash. It was pleasure bringing you all the updates from this contest. It's time now for us to take your leave. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and Sidharth Gulati and scorer Paras Yadav. Bye Bye and Good night.
Riyan Parag (Player of the Match): "Emotions are settled. Actually, Mom's here as well. So she's seen the struggle she's seen the last four or five years. I know this is just the beginning and just a small start. I've said multiple times, I know what my opinion is about myself, and no matter what anyone says I don't let that change. And that has never changed. Regardless of whether I'm performing or not, even if I got a zero today, that opinion was never going to change.

So I think that constant support from myself always helps. I think that has a lot to do with the type of season I've had as well. I think you get a lot of confidence from getting runs into domestics. And we had a chat here, right here at the field last night as well.

That someone from the top four has to play the 20 overs because it's a wicket like that, it keeps lows and someone coming in new, it's very challenging, and that worked out perfectly. In the first match, Sanju bhaiya did it, and today, I did it. I've had to work very hard for the last three days. I was in bed, I was sick and I just got up today with painkillers, etc. and I could still manage today. So I'm really happy for myself."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: RIYAN PARAG
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "Yeah. A bit of a roller-coaster. The way we started in the first 10 overs, it was like Rovman get ready. But the guys stepped up and showed what they can do.

I feel IPL is changing and we have to be flexible. First, it was only about 11 players but now, all 15 players will have to be ready. Me and Sanga had four to five chats in between and after the 17th over, we decided to go with Burger as the impact player. But that last over made the difference.

I think basically it's about what zones the players are in at different times. At times, they are in different zones. Some days, they are calm and composed. You have to take the decisions looking at them. I felt Sandy was very calm and I went with him in the 19th over. Even Avesh was very calm in the last over.

Riyan has been a big name in the last 4-5 years. Whenever I go back to Kerala, everyone keeps asking me about him and it's great to see him delivering for us. The season hasn't begun yet. Hopefully, he will continue his form and contribute to the Indian cricket in the future."
Super Fours of the Match: Riyan Parag (7)
Super Sixes of the Match: Riyan Parag (6 maximums)
Ultimate Fantasy Player of the Match: Riyan Parag
Electric Striker of the Match: Mitchell Marsh (23 runs off only 12 balls at a strike-rate of 191.67)
Time for the post-match presentation...

Most sixes in an IPL match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur:

24 – RR vs SRH, 2023

19 – RR vs LSG, 2024

17 – RR vs DC - TONIGHT

14 – RR vs PBKS, 2008

Avesh Khan (Rajasthan Royals): "My plan was clear to bowl the wide yorkers because one side of the boundary was longer. I was taking long breathes before delivering each ball and giving myself five seconds.

I always focus on execution. Even if you execute your yorkers and go for boundary, it doesn't worry me because the batters have come to hit the ball. I always back my yorkers.

I'm enjoying my time here. We have Boult, Burger and Sandy and they have great experience. Sanju bhai gives me confidence to execute my plans. I always try to improve myself. Especially in T20s, I try to invent new balls. I don't think about selection. I focus on the process and try to execute the plans."
Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals Captain): "Definitely disappointed, and the best thing we can do is learn from this. I think the bowlers did really well through the 15-16 over. But you know it's gonna happen sometimes, the batsman is gonna go through your death overs, and it happened in this match. Yes, we're gonna learn from that and hopefully we do better in the next big game. I think the platform Mitch and Warner gave us was really nice. I think in the middle over because we have to save the wicket. Because generally, we were losing a lot of wickets.

See, there is always an option or the other option. But at the same time, we got to look because we wanted Nortje to finish in the death overs. I think he is one of our premium bowlers and sometimes you gonna go for runs. But we tried to save him for the last few overs and it didn't go well for us today."
23:25 IST and Local Time | That's it. Rajasthan Royals win by 12 runs, their second consecutive victory at IPL 2024. They were led by Riyan Parag's blazing knock before the bowlers stepped up and got the job done. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, suffer their second defeat in a row.

Chasing a target of 186, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh got off to a fiery start before the latter was removed by Nandre Burger, who got rid of Ricky Bhui as well in the same over. Warner and DC skipper Rishabh Pant then stitched a partnership, but they couldn’t score boundaries regularly. Both Warner and Pant fell in quick succession. Abishek Porel, the Impact Sub, failed to contribute and while Tristan Stubbs did smack a few sixes in the death overs, Sandeep Sharma and Avesh Khan executed their yorkers perfectly to seal the deal for the hosts.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Parag led an excellent recovery for Rajasthan Royals. They were 58/3 after the first 10 overs, and smashed 127/2 off the remaining 60 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson all fell cheaply. Ravichandran Ashwin, who was promoted to No. 5, did a great job. Ashwin smacked a few maximums to bring the Royals’ innings back on track. That, in a way, took pressure off Parag, and the RR No. 4 cut loose in the death overs. Dhruv Jurel also played a cameo and supported Parag, who hammered 25 runs in an over off Nortje and that guided the Royals past 180. A commanding total which seemed improbable at one stage. The momentum was on the Royals’ side and their bowlers then held their nerves to guide their side home.

1 Excellent from Avesh Khan. He has held his nerves and defended 17 runs in the last over to help his side make it two wins in a row. Ends the over with a fuller delivery on the stumps, 138 kmph, almost another yorker as Axar only manages to whip it along the ground to deep mid wicket for a single. With this, the Rajasthan Royals beat the Delhi Capitals by 12 runs.
