Nitish Kumar Reddy (Player of the Match): "For me, it's a significant contribution to my team and myself, boosting my confidence in this game. I've been telling myself in the middle that I should believe in myself.

I need to put my team in a good position, so I have to stay there. I knew that the seamers were bowling really well, so I just wanted to hold back a bit. I prefer not to take them on. I anticipate the spinners coming, and I want to attack them, so that's what I did.

Throughout the tournament, they've been bowling slow bouncers, and it's proving to be effective. I've also been considering the dimensions. My aim is to keep performing well for my team."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: NITISH KUMAR REDDY
Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain): "Yes. It was a great game of cricket. They played well at the start and we did well to get to 180 and did well with the ball. You feel you have a good depth in batting. Bhuvneshwar was exceptional with the new ball.

I thought 180 was really good. With 150, you are going to lose most of the times but really happy with 180. We knew the new ball was going to be key and 180 was a good total.

(On bowling with the new ball) It was about the conditions. I didn't think I would bowl with the new ball coming into the game but saw the new ball move and decided to bowl it.

We have plenty of left-armers and right-armers. You just try to bowl to the long boundary.

Nitish was awesome. Debuted last week. Came top of the order tonight and took us to 180. Bowled well and was good in the field and he was brilliant."
Most Fours of the Match: Shashank Singh (6 fours)
Super Sixes of the Match: Nitish Kumar Reddy (5 sixes)
Fantasy Player of the Match: Nitish Kumar Reddy (125 points)
Electric Striker of the Match: Ashutosh Sharma (33* off 15 balls at a SR of 220)
Time for the post-match presentation...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH): β€œThat’s the beauty of the T20 game. The wicket changed a lot in the last few overs. We scored runs and they also scored runs. It was a nail-biting game and happy to finish on top.

I asked Heinrich to come up to the stumps. There was no movement off the surface and Shikhar was stepping out of the crease. So I wanted the keeper to come up. (Last stumping wicket) I think it was for Pune Warriors I guess.

It depends on how you prepare. Everybody knows what you gonna do. But you have to keep doing the simple things right and keep doing those things regularly. Nitish batted really well. Even in the last game, he played well. Young talent is coming out and it’s a good thing for Indian cricket."
Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings Captain): "Yeah, I feel Shashank and Ashutosh played well, and I believe we restricted them to a good total. Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize on the first six overs, which put us behind in the game.  And losing three wickets inside the powerplay also pinched us hard. It's fantastic to witness these youngsters stepping up and consistently contributing in that manner. It's truly a great feeling. And yes, we're determined to bounce back from this loss.

Of course, the wicket isn't providing the bounce we need, so we'll have to rethink our strategies and adjust our shots accordingly. That dropped catch at the end could have limited them to 10 or 15 runs less, but unfortunately, the top order couldn't deliver. It's encouraging to see young players stepping up, and we'll aim to recover from this defeat. While there was hope they could finish the game, they pushed us until the end. However, there's always room for improvement, and we'll work on enhancing our performance."
11:14 PM IST and Local Time: How about this for a cracking game? It was nowhere going down to the wire, but somehow, we found ourselves witnessing an excellent game that oscillated heavily in the final over of the contest. At the end of all, it's Sunrisers Hyderabad holding their nerve to win the cliffhanger by just two runs!

Put into bat first, SRH managed to get to 182/9 in 20 overs despite being at 4/64 in 9.4 overs. Travis Head (21 off 15) and Abhishek Sharma (16 off 11) went hard at the PBKS new ball bowlers but failed to keep the momentum going, with Arshdeep Singh (4-0-29-4) picking two wickets in an over twice in the game. The big names of Markram and Klaasen failed to deliver, with the impact player Rahul Tripathi not having much of an impact.

Nitish Kumar Reddy (64 off 37) struck four 4s and five 6s and took responsibility and opportunity with both hands to pull the franchise out of deep trouble. Abdul Samad (25 off 12) hit a few lusty blows, adding a 50-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Shahbaz Ahmed (14* off 7) and Jaydev Unadkat's last-ball six eventually made the difference in the game's outcome. To be exact, Harshal Patel had the opportunity to take the catch before the ball was parried over the fence off his palms.

Harshal Patel and Sam Curran picked up two wickets each, while KG Rabada grabbed one wicket.

SRH bowlers were on the spot straightaway and reduced PBKS to 3/20 inside the Powerplay. Sam Curran (29 off 22), Sikandar Raza (28 off 22) and Jitesh Sharma (19 off 11) ticked off runs at a good pace in the middle phase but didn't really hurt the visitors.

Shashank Singh (46* off 25) and Ashutosh Sharma (33* off 15) were again terrific despite the required run rate climbing at the rate of knots. Both the inexperienced batters took centre stage for the second game in a row with their brutal and special knocks.

Bhuvi was the successful bowler for SRH, taking a couple of wickets, including the maiden first over. Cummins, Unadkat, Nitish, and Natarajan each took a wicket.

With 29 runs needed off the final over delivered by Unadkat, the match was all but over. But the Railways cricketer made things interesting with three sixes in the last over, as well as the left-arm pacer bowling a few wide deliveries. There were plenty of errors on the field by SRH that almost cost them two points.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
