That's it from another high scoring thriller in the Indian Premier League. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash, AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals Captain and Player of the Match): "I think we have seen it before that Nortje has struggled a bit in the past. He has had a tough time in the death overs. T20 is a funny game. The ball was coming nicely onto the bat after 14-15 overs. The thinking process is that when a bowler is having a nice day, then you should back that bowler (Rasikh Salam).

We need to follow our instincts. Sometimes, it comes off, and sometimes it doesn't. I guess I was spot on tonight. Happy that it came off.

At 44/3, we (Axar and Pant) had a simple conversation. The only conversation between Axar and me was to keep going and target their main spinners. Each and every day, I feel better. I give my 100%. It takes some time sometimes. Every hour, I just love being on the field. I think the first six in the match give me confidence in a game. The more time I spend in the centre, the better I feel. Just try to do my best on the field."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Rishabh Pant

Kuldeep Yadav (DC): "Ahh... Happy to get the win. These 2 points are very important. Amazing game in the end. We held our nerves to get over the line.

I mean, obviously, we had a plan. The coach and the captain wanted an over from me when Tewatia came to bat. I managed to execute it by missing Tewatia, which turned the game. It didn't exactly turn the game, but yeah, it was a crucial breakthrough for us. We posted a good total on the board. 225 is a very big score, to be honest. We batted well and put up a good total on the board.

You have to read the batter. The line and length mattered a lot. I bowled a few balls to Tewatia at the wicket. Then, thinking that he would slog sweep, I bowled wide outside off. That was a good plan, and we got him."
Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans Captain): "I think we played some really good cricket. Obviously, very disappointed to lose at the end, but I think great character was shown by everyone, and at no point did we think we were out of the game. So, it was a great fight. When you're chasing 224, there's not much to discuss. You know, you have to go from ball one and hope that you keep smashing them. I think the impact player has a bit of a role in that. Even when you lose a few wickets in the power play or in the middle overs, because, you know, we have that extra cushion, every team just keeps going and they're able to set a good target.

Honestly, at one stage, we thought we would be able to restrict them to somewhere around 200, maybe around 210. We gave away, I think, a few extra runs in the last 3 overs. But having said that, you know, the good thing about chasing is that you know what target you are chasing. And that's what we talked about after the halfway mark, that 224 on a ground like this, it's a smallish ground, so it's very much chasable.

Yeah, I think execution becomes very important at this stage, especially if there's a set batter or if there's a finisher. You have to be able to execute your skills. If there's nothing in the wicket, if there's something for the bowlers in the wicket, then it's a different thing. But if there's nothing in the wicket for the bowlers, if there are big hitters as good as we saw in this match, then you have to be able to execute your plans and execute your yorkers or whatever the plan is. If you don't do that, then it's a difficult game for the bowlers."
The quickest IPL fifties for GT (by balls taken):

20 balls: Wriddhiman Saha vs LSG, Ahmedabad, 2023

21 balls: Vijay Shankar vs KKR, Ahmedabad, 2023

21 balls: Rashid Khan vs MI, Mumbai WS, 2023

21 balls: David Miller vs DC, Delhi, TONIGHT

22 balls: Shubman Gill vs SRH, Ahmedabad, 2023
11:12 PM: The Delhi Capitals win a nerve wracking thriller at the Arun Jaitley Stadium by 4 runs, their 4th win this season. The middle order was all class in the batting effort of 224/4 after losing the toss and being sent in. The bowlers held their nerves clinching the game on the final delivery.

Skipper Rishabh Pant was the star with 88* in 43 balls. Axar Patel at number 3 scored 66 in 43 balls with Tristan Stubbs hitting 26 in 7 for the finishing blows remaining unbeaten at the end.

The Titans lost skipper Shubman Gill early in the chase for just 6 in 5 balls but Wriddhiman Saha (39 off 25) and impact player Sai Sudharsan (65 off 39) picked up the momentum adding 82 for the 2nd wicket.

Spinners again came to the rescue with Kuldeep Yadav removing Saha in the 10th over. Sai Sudharsan played a more than handy knock in the collapsing middle order with David Miller setting the stage on fire hitting 3 sixes and 6 fours in his 55 off 23 balls.

Sai Kishore in the lower order scored 13 off 6 taking the game to the final over where GT required 19 off 6 and eventually 5 off the last ball when Mukesh Kumar (1/41) held his nerve and saved the day for DC with Rashid Khan (21* off 11) taking the visitors on the brink of a win.

DC's impact player Rasikh Salam picked up 3/44. Kuldeep Yadav was back at his best with 2/29 in 4 overs. Axar Patel after a stellar batting performance picked up 1/28 in 3 overs with Anrich Nortje finishing expensive again conceding 48 in 3 overs for Gill's early wicket.

Delhi Capitals have toppled Gujarat Titans from the sixth position. GT moving down to number 7. Both teams having 8 points on the table. The Capitals will face Mumbai Indians in Delhi this Saturday with GT set to face RCB in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Stay tuned for the post match festivities.
